After returning to Manila, Rizal established "La Liga Filipina" in response to reportedly sending anti-church litearure, he was then deported to Dapitan. On December 26, 1896, the trial for Rizal began, and that same day, the judge chose to have him shot to death. Afterward, Rizal was put t death in Bagumbayan on December 30, 1896.
